artist: lisa hochstein

A collection of sheet music covers from the early-to-mid-1900’s has been the source material for the collage work of Lisa Hockstein, a US-based artist who spend several years in Barcelona. The colors and typography of an earlier era draw her to this material, as does the pleasure of rummaging through other peoples’ castoffs at flea markets, yard sales, and thrift stores.


For this post, I have picked a few pieces among her beautiful collection, mostly in pink shades but there is a lot of other colours in her work. See for yourself.
